Navigating Segments

Learn how to browse and navigate through video segments for efficient learning

The Segments Panel

When you analyze a video, BrightClips AI breaks it down into meaningful segments. Each segment represents a distinct topic or concept from the video, complete with timestamps and a summary.

BrightClips offers two ways to view your segments: Segments View shows all segments in a list, while Reading View focuses on one segment at a time with detailed key points.

Segments View

  • See all segments at a glance
  • Quick overview of the entire video structure
  • Best for skimming and finding specific topics

Reading View

  • Focus on one segment with full details
  • See all key points for that segment
  • Best for deep learning and note-taking

Click to Jump

Click any segment to instantly jump to that timestamp in the video. The video player will seek to the exact moment where that topic begins.

How it works:

  1. 1Find a segment you want to watch
  2. 2Click anywhere on the segment card
  3. 3The video jumps to that timestamp and starts playing
  4. 4Video auto-pauses when the segment ends (optional)

Auto-Pause Feature

When you click a segment, the video will automatically pause when that segment ends. This helps you focus on one topic at a time without the video running ahead.

Why Auto-Pause Helps Learning

  • Focused learning: Process one concept before moving to the next
  • Take notes: Pause gives you time to write down key points
  • Better retention: Spaced breaks improve memory encoding
Tip: You can disable auto-pause in the playback controls if you prefer continuous playback.

Mobile Navigation

BrightClips is fully responsive. On mobile devices, the segments panel appears below the video player, making it easy to navigate on smaller screens.
