❌ Prohibited Uses

• Using the service to bypass YouTube's monetization or view counts
• Scraping, harvesting, or extracting data beyond intended personal use
• Automated/bot analysis requests that exceed fair use limits
• Analyzing private, unlisted, or age-restricted content without authorization
• Using insights to create derivative works that compete with original creators
• Any activity that violates YouTube's Terms of Service

3. Respect Content Creators

BrightClips.ai enhances, but never replaces, the original content.

• Credit Creators: Always acknowledge the original creator when sharing insights
• Link Back: Our service always provides links to the original YouTube video
• Support Creators: Watch the original video, like, subscribe, and engage with creators
• Fair Use: Use AI-generated insights for personal learning, not as replacement content
• Report Issues: If you believe a creator's content is being misused, contact us

4. Data and Privacy

• Public Content Only: Only analyze publicly available YouTube videos
• No Personal Data: Don't submit videos containing personal, private, or sensitive information
• Shared Cache: Analyzed videos may be cached and accessible to other users (see Privacy Policy)
• Your Responsibility: You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to analyze content

5. Quality and Accuracy

AI-Generated Insights

• Our AI (Claude Sonnet 4) provides high-quality summaries, but may occasionally make errors
• Always verify critical information by watching the original video
• Timestamps and segments are generated automatically and may not be perfect
• We support 109+ languages via Claude AI and Gemini. Quality is highest for major languages (English, Spanish, Hindi, Chinese, etc.) and may vary for less common languages

Your Role

• Use insights as a study aid, not a replacement for watching content
• Cross-reference important facts with the original video
• Report inaccurate or misleading AI-generated content to us

6. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure service availability for everyone:

• Reasonable Use: The service is free for personal, educational use
• Rate Limits: Excessive requests may be throttled or blocked
• No Automation: Don't use bots, scripts, or automated tools without permission
• Share the Cache: Check if a video is already analyzed before re-analyzing

7. Video Requirements

For best results and to respect our community:

• Minimum Duration: Videos must be at least 5 minutes long
• Transcripts Required: Videos must have available transcripts (auto-generated or manual)
• No Live Streams: Live streams cannot be analyzed (only completed videos)
• No Music-Only: Music videos without substantial educational content may be rejected
• No Shorts: YouTube Shorts are not supported (under 60 seconds)

8. Prohibited Content

Do not submit videos containing:

• Illegal content or activities
• Hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content
• Graphic violence or disturbing imagery
• Adult or sexually explicit content
• Misinformation or conspiracy theories presented as fact
• Content that violates intellectual property rights
• Spam, scams, or fraudulent content

Note: We respect freedom of expression but reserve the right to refuse service for content that violates these guidelines or applicable laws.

9. Enforcement

Violations

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

• Warning and request to cease prohibited activity
• Temporary suspension of service access
• Permanent ban from the service
• Removal of analyzed content from our cache
• Legal action for severe violations (fraud, illegal activity, etc.)

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you may contact us to appeal. We'll review your case within 7 business days.
